BAND is a Bristol based organisation dedicated to providing fully inclusive learning and play activities for children.
As well as running a range of workshops it works with 150 groups across the Bristol area which are accessed by more than 10,000 children.
A £5,000 donation from the Foundation will allow BAND to extend its Access for Childcare programme which funds specialist teachers to accompany and supporting disabled children to attend general play sessions.
Kate Williams, from the charity said: “We are able to provide 1-1 support which means the child can be integrated within the group and join in at their level. It makes a tremendous difference not just to the child with the disability but to all the children in the group helping to develop acceptance.
“We are an umbrella organisation for all the many children’s groups across Bristol, helping with staff training, procedures and legal checks. We also have a resource library which they can access.
“None of this would be possible without donations like this one from the Wain Foundation and we are incredibly grateful.”
